Help for teachers or principals to create a Kampal Schools project

License and use of the application in educational centers

This tool is designed to be used in educational centres, which will have a user license through their director or manager. The person in charge can authorize the teachers of the centre to create and configure tests tailored to them.

Each teacher can have their own user togenerate different tests, store them, analyze results, etc.

Several standard models will be available tohelp with the preparation of specific surveys.

Project creation and inclusion of students

The Kampal Schools product is licensed for educational centres. The principal or whoever has the license can authorize the rest of the teachers to create users and tests.

In the survey configuration window, the teacher, has a form to upload an excel file, he also has a button "Sample template".

To download an excel with the necessary information columns already established (the teacher should use that excel because a specific column order is needed), uploading it generates the student accounts with new passwords.

If the same student is included in different surveys, the student's username will be the same but their password will change with each generation.

After including students, the teacher can add more by adding them to the excel file and upload it again. The password from the old ones will change and the rest of the information will be kept, and the new ones will be added. There is also a "Delete all" button to delete all students and start over, and a "trash" button to delete students one by one.

When there are students in a test, a "Regenerate credentials" button appears (to create new passwords for all) and a "Key" button for each student (to reate a new password for that student only). The teacher also has a button to download an excel or plain text file with the usernames and passwords of all the students in the survey, and he must be the one distributing the ID and password to each student. (Emphasis should be placed on doing all tests first, because if another teacher later includes the student in another survey, his password will be changed automatically and he will not be able to access).

When the student receives his ID and password, he can go to he web and log in; all the active surveys to which he has been assigned will appear. If they are not active, they will not appear and will not be available to answer, or see or anything. When the teacher activates the survey in his panel, the students will be able to access the specific test and answer it. Once answered, you will not be able to answer again. And the teacher is getting how many people have answered (or by which page they go).

Test creation and question management

First, the teacher must log into the application. There, he will be able to “Go to visualization”, from where he will be able to visualize his existing projects, download standard surveys, or go to “Create new survey”.

In the visualization, a simple panel is offered for the visualization of the statistics, questions and other aspects referring to each specific project

In "Create new survey", it will appear an "Add page" button. It is used to add a page on which the questions will be written and the student will view it completely. When you want the next questions to be displayed after the first, “create page” must be clicked again so that the following questions are part of the next page. It can be corrected.

"Disable going to previous page" button appears, this is to not allow the student to return to the previous page once they have gone to the next page, meaning, not to review page 2, when you are already on page 3. It also appears "Randomize questions", so that the questions within the same page appear in random order.

A drop-down appears with the option "Add question". There you must choose the category or type to which the question to be asked belongs.pregunta que vaya a realizar. In the questions you will see a button "Fix position" to set the order in which you want that question to appear.

Question types

The question types are:

  • Text block: It is not a question. Here, the teacher will be able to expose things, or make a description of the test etc.
  • Image: If the question refers to an image that you want to include in the question. You must choose the alignment (where the image is placed).
  • Numerical value question: If the answer must be given in numerical value.
  • Text question: If the answer to the question must be answered with a text.
  • Date question: If it must be answered with a date.
  • Single option question: If it is a multiple choice test that must be answered with a single option.
  • Multiple choice question: If it is a multiple choice question that can be answered with several options.
  • Student list question: Question in which the list of students is offered for the student to select from among them the ones they consider. The type of relationship to which the question refers to must be chosen so that it is included in the database. If it refers to friendship, such as "Who do you like to play with at break?" you must select the option "Type of relationship: Good" and so on. You must also select the maximum and minimum number of options (students from the list) that the student can choose. You will have to choose if you want only the student's class to be shown. Also if you want to use the nickname in case this nickname system has been used.
  • Conditional student list question: It will only be valid if you have previously asked a student list question. This question follows the same structure as the student list question except that only students who had been chosen by the student in the previous student list question are eligible.
  • Nickname question: Question in which the nickname is asked to the students in case they want to use this option and that the nicknames appear in the questions or different questions of the test.

Display

Once all the questions have been included, click on save test and the survey will appear in "Views".

In visualization you will have the buttons "Create your own test", to create new tests; "Go to visualization", to visualize the data referring to your completed surveys; and some mini-buttons for each survey that you have active, which are:

  • View test: to see the test questions.
  • Duplicate survey: To duplicate the survey, conduct it in different classes and independently save the data etc.
  • Edit survey: to edit the survey.
  • Configure and launch test: there is a help to register students and other questions related to the launch. From there you can activate the survey for the students you have selected, etc. It has an automatic help in the tab itself for this purpose. From here, you will upload the students Excel file and activate it as proposed by the buttons that will appear once you press the button that we are explaining "Configure and launch survey".
  • Archive test: It is used to archive a test once you are not going to carry out any further actions with it with respect to the students, or when you want to save it in the "Archived" tab, which is on, the same page next to the "Current" tab. If you go back to Archive once you are on the Archive tab, you will be returned to the current tab. It is just an organizational matter.
  • Publish test: Makes the survey visible to the other teachers in the centre, within the application.
